Gray Reid Gallery has proudly represented award winning contemporary Melbourne jewellery artist Monica Szwaja for 17 years.

Originally trained in London, Monica was exposed to many different European and international styles and her work over the years has incorporated classic European gold and silver smith techniques as well as traditional techniques from around the world including enamelling, Japanese mokume-gane, Korean kombu, cuttlefish casting, glass making as well as intricate beading to name a few.

Monica’s successful solo exhibition in 2013 re-introduced her work to a large number of Melbourne clients and she has been a popular artist with collectors and jewellery aficionados both local and from abroad.

Monica’s new range of jewellery currently in Gray Reid Gallery focuses mainly on her exploration or Korean ‘Kombu’ which is the delicate layering of 24ct gold onto silver. In this collection you will see statement earrings, bright coloured gems, silver and gold jewellery set with semiprecious gems and diamonds, repurposed gems silver and gold necklaces and a fantastic range of fine pendants. Monica’s work ranges from contemporary and edgy to classic and understated making her work the perfect, affordable gift for the jewel lover of any age and of any taste
